In keeping with the recent trend in customized BSAs, here is another very “Special” BSA Victor Special. Your opinion may vary…

The BSA Victor Special that was the basis for this bike was basically a large motocross bike with lights. Up until 1969 they had a Lucas battery-less “Energy Transfer” ignition that was, shall we say, less than ideal. That, combined with the high compression single, made it somewhat challenging to start. There are many tales of injured ankles with owners of these bikes….The transmission was based on the previous 250CC single, and as such was susceptible to abuse and poor maintenance. But the bike was good-looking and reportedly, a blast to ride.

This Victor had had a plethora of both mechanical and cosmetic changes. You be the judge on the forks, bars and muffler. I would go back to original, but the mechanical work done does sound good. It looks like the motor has been completely rebuilt and with new wiring and a Pazon ignition, the electrics should be miles better than when new.

Lots of pictures on the listing here on Craigslist in Atlanta, Georgia for $4,500.
