Kawasaki may have created the modern 600 sportbike as we know it today with the Ninja, but Honda upped the stakes when they released the CBR600F in 1987 – it made 12 extra horsepower and weighed 28 pounds less. The mid-sized Honda was dominant in racing: AMA created the 600 Supersport Championship in ’87 and Honda won each of the nine races. Despite that, the CBR (also known as the Hurricane) was also user-friendly enough to enjoy on the street or even for a bout of sport-touring when equipped with the rare factory soft luggage. I have to admit, I wasn’t even aware that Honda offered factory bags for this bike until I saw this listing, and that’s why I have to share this bike.
This example shows 24,596 miles on the odometer and it features rebuilt carbs and forks. It’s being offered by the second owner who says that the bike is highly original though it’s got a Lockhart headlight protector and aftermarket seat that he does not mention. It also looks to have a scratch on the plastic under the seat on the left side. Find this Hurricane for sale here on Craigslist for $1,950 in Portland, Oregon.
