Post Listing Update: this Darmah did not meet reserve despite 39 bids up to $11,050 on eBay in Wainscott, New York.
Stuart Parr has a hell of a motorcycle collection – several years ago he even had an exhibit for the public to enjoy some of his machines. Coming out of that collection today is a 900 SD Darmah that comes with coveted-by-collectors “Falloon Report”.
Ian Falloon is a noted Ducati expert who offers an authentication service, the result of which is a 30-40 page hardcover report, and you’ll get one of these in the sale. The Darmah name comes from an Italian cartoon tiger (hence the image on the sidecovers), and it was much more successful than the square case bevel twin 860GT that it replaced.
This Darmah (VIN: DM860SS900382) has covered 6,650 miles and it’s an early example with Ceriani forks, Marzocchi shocks, and Campagnolo wheels. Aftermarket pieces include K&N air filters and period-correct Conti exhaust. Mr. Parr is the second owner, and he notes that the bike was “cosmetically and mechanically refreshed” around 2000. Per the included report, Ian Falloon calls this “one of the best [Darmahs] I have ever seen.”
