In 3 weeks, one of the nation’s best custom motorcycle shows is about to enjoy their 8th anniversary. So if you’re in Portland (or need an excuse to visit), you need to check out See See Motorcycles’ The One Show. This year they’ve got a new location and it’s going to be bigger and better…while still somehow being free for exhibitors and attendees!.
It’s the brainchild of Thor Drake, who started it all off by inviting fellow builders to have a party in Portland. This show is all about “weird, rare, unconventional bikes…that everyone could enjoy.” As I’m constantly on the lookout for similar bikes to share on Bike-urious, I’ve been sold on this concept for a while. It seems like The One Motorcycle Show doubles in size every year, and I don’t know how they’re able to keep it up.
Last year they introduced a Pro Flat Track Race, and they’re bringing it back for this year with a $10,000 purse. So enjoy some extraordinary custom motorcycles and some racing, and then try to re-enact as many Portlandia scenes as possible.
Here’s a recap from last year, if you need a 7 minute taste:
For more information, head on over to the The One Moto website. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this year as I’ll be down in Baja, but I hope you’re able to check out the festivities and make me jealous!
