Post Listing Update: This FLH was pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown.

Named Elvis, this FLH is claimed to have been restored without any reproduction parts – either NOS replacements or just good old fashioned refurbishment of the originals. I don’t care what you call this bike, I just know that you’re going to look stylish with the Sparkling Burgundy/Birch White paint!

1966 was the first year of the Shovelhead motor, a powerplant that would last until 1984 when Harley introduced the Evolution. The “Electra Glide” name signified that this bike had an electric starter which was introduced only a year prior. The seller notes that Cycle World was impressed with the Shovel FLH, saying “In its field – high-speed, long-distance touring – the Electra Glide is without equal…the Harley-Davidson 74 V-twin is one of the finest motorcycle engines ever built, not because it is revolutionary or unusual, but because it is the product of years of thoughtful, careful, conscientious development”.

This example (VIN: 66FLH2575) has just 2,102 miles after what the seller calls a “25 year plus restoration”. It should be noted that the engine case numbers do not match, they’re one off. It is the seller’s belief that a mix-up happened on the production line. The bike is named “Elvis” (it’s on the license plate, too) because “this cycle looks like it would be right at home in Elvis Presley’s garage”.
