I’ve featured one of these in the past, and my reasons for featuring it now still apply – folding vehicles are cool, and their website is still adorably out of date. But this time, we have a fleet of 5 that’s up for sale. They’ll need a little work, but with a fleet like this you can start your own scooter service to help out drunk drivers.
Have no idea what I’m talking about? In England there’s a company called Scooterman. If you’ve had a bit too much to drink at a bar, you call them up and someone will meet you there. The gimmick is that they show up on a folding scooter, so they throw it in the trunk of your car and drive you home in your own vehicle so that you don’t have to worry about it the next morning. Top Gear UK did a segment about it years ago in which they used it as an excuse to test a variety of cars in one night. I couldn’t find the entire segment, but someone edited it down to the following if you’re interested in the visual:
So here’s your chance to take on Uber, I guess. Per the DiBlasi website, the Express was originally built for RV drivers, boat owners, and private pilots who need a way to get around once they arrive. Top speed is 30 mph, it gets approximately 100 mpg, and it can carry 320 pounds.
This listing is for a collection of 5 in “fair” condition as the seller has not used them in a few years. 4 are complete but one may need some minor parts and they’ll all need a service to be runners. The sale includes carrying bags for all of them and some spare parts.
Find this set of DiBlasis for sale here on Craigslist for $2,500 in Richmond, Virginia.
