Back in the late 70s, Fox Racing sponsored a MX team to help showcase their line of products. Here’s a replica of Pat Richter’s bike – he placed 7th overall in the ’77 season.
For more information on the Moto-X Fox bike, check out this awesome period (1978 1/2) catalog that Fox published detailing their efforts from the Jones MX collection. The seller of this replica started with a low hour bike and then bolted on some expensive parts to form an impressively correct replica – Simons forks, Forx/Thor swingarm, Fox air shocks, Fox exhaust, and the hard to find watercooled head and radiator, modeled after period Shinobis. The bike has a repaint to go along with factory replica side panels, custom radiator mounts, and a few other goodies. The seller has a set of period replicas, all of which were featured in a VMX issue 5 years ago – this Suzuki was also featured at the Legends and Heroes traveling museum that I’ve featured other bikes from, like this never-started Honda Elsinore. The seller says this bike has won every show he has entered it in, but he doesn’t mention what shows they were.
