The modern Aprilia Tuono is a perennial shootout winner, but one of my favorites of the model goes back to the beginning – the limited production Tuono Racing.
The stock Tuono was impressive in its own way, but the only-for-2003 Tuono Racing took it to the next level with high-end components including carbon fiber bodywork, OZ wheels, Brembo radial calipers, and Ohlins suspension (forks, steering damper, and shocks). There was also a full factory kit which included a carbon fiber front fairing with number plate/headlight delete, longer carbon fiber belly pan with built-in oil catch tank, mesh taillight cover, reverse-pattern shifter, race chip, and titanium exhaust can. Sometimes you’ll find these and a few parts have gone missing over the years – but this bike has every single part of the factory kit. According to this review on Motorcyclist, just 50 made it to the United States.
This example (VIN: ZD4RPC0543S000077) has 9,429 miles and the seller states that it is “virtually flawless” with no scratches or dents. It’s got a few upgrades (TigCraft full titanium exhaust, Acculign rearsets, CRG levers, Sargent seat, etc), but I’m just impressed to find an example that still has the full race kit with it.
Find this Tuono racing for sale in Stockton, New Jersey with bidding up to $9,600 and the reserve not yet met here on eBay.
