On Sunday, July 8th, Nitro Circus will put on a three-hour TV show on the History channel called “Evel Live”. The show will be all about Travis Pastrana recreating three of Evel’s most famous jumps, which means that Pastrana is a crazy person. To get you excited, here’s a reminder of how Evel did:
1967 – Caesar’s Palace Jump. Evel broke over 40 bones and was in a coma for over a month. If you don’t like watching people crash, you may want to skip this one:
1973 – LA Memorial Coliseum – 51 Crushed Cars. Knievel cleared 18 car widths — a total of 51 assorted crushed cars stacked in twos and threes, side by side.
1975 – King’s Island Theme Park – 14 Greyhound Buses, he held this record for 24 years. Skip to 1:45 if you’re impatient:
Interestingly, Travis is going to be utilizing an Indian Scout FTR750! Just like Knievel’s Harley, it’s not a bike that was designed for jumping. Hopefully Travis will have a higher success rate than Evel did…
