Post-Listing Update: This Metralla tourer was pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown.
The Metralla is a legend in the world of classic bikes, but because they were the fastest two-stroke bike you could buy at the time, most people used them in racing or sport riding applications. Here’s an example with a rare factory fairing that’ll allow you to cover the miles with minimal effort.
The engine was a 250cc unit and the bike weighed just 250 pounds. With an original MSRP of $600, the Mk2 Metralla was in production until 1975, and it’s become an absolute cult classic in the states. And I’m not the only one who thinks this is a pretty bike – it was even featured in the Guggenheim Art of the Motorcycle Exhibit. Capable of just over 100 miles per hour, this bike put Bultaco on the map. Unfortunately, that’s also made these bikes very expensive nowadays.
This numbers-matching example (VIN: M2304605) has a new speedometer (mileage unknown) and a repaint. The fairing is mounted on non-standard mounts, and the seller says the only flaws are a hard to find scratch on the left sid of teh tank and two missing cylinder head fins. This bike completed the Cycle World Rolling Concourse back in 2013 and it’s claimed to be a great rider. Find this Bultaco for sale in Hamilton, Ohio with an unmet opening bid of $4,000 or a BIN of $8,600
