1968 was one of the two years that BMW offered a telescopic fork variant of their /2 for the US market with the R50, R60, and R69. The models were referred to as the R50US, R60US, and R69US. Here’s one of the middle options in the beautiful color of Granada Red.
One of the many cool things about this example (VIN: 1815491) is that it has been in the seller’s family since new. The odometer shows 39,997 miles though the engine was rebuilt 278 miles ago. The seller says that the carbs were also rebuilt “but one of the screws drips.” Crash bars are included but are currently off the bike because the seller didn’t like the way they looked, and the saddlebags were apparently handmade by his father.
