This listing is for a Honda, but the reason it’s for sale is to fund the repair of a Willys Jeep. It’s a two-owner bike with an asking price of $1,500 and it’s clear that the owner is someone you’d enjoy hearing stories from over a beer. Does that make the bike worth it? Who knows, but you should at least check out the Jeep he wants to save.
The seller is a gentleman named Larry Shank, and his dad’s 1952 Willys Jeep CJ-3B with a teardrop trailer has been in the family since new. If you prefer pictures and text, he wrote a lovely story about it on Petrolicious back in 2014. If you prefer video, just enjoy this – make sure you get to the end with the vintage projector and old family footage!
Unfortunately, the rear axle broke on his Jeep back in June and the resulting damage was significant. To fund the necessary repairs, Larry is selling this XL. It’s not perfect but it’s are to see one with the OEM exhaust! The bike was acquired in 1975 from the original owner with 1,852 miles and the odometer now shows 14,244. It runs well but there’s expected cosmetic damage. Notable differences from stock are a removable rear rack and the odd placement of the Honda logos on the tank. The turn signal relay is a generic NAPA replacement and there’s a small leak in the muffler. The sale includes the stock sprocket and a home made work stand.
