Congratulations to RoHorn, who was the first to identify that this front wheel came from a Böhmerland!
Böhmerland was a Czechoslovakian firm that built bikes between ’24 and ’39. All of their bikes were of one ‘model’, but with wheelbase options from a 2 seat “Sport” model to the 4 seater “Lang Touren” (Long Touring). This is the option that Goldilocks would pick, the 3 seater “Touren”.
The 4-seater version has a rear seat long enough for two people!
The 16 horsepower, 600cc single was used for all wheelbase lengths – this Touren was 8 feet long but the Lang Touren was 10.5, making it one of the longest motorcycles ever. Note the leading link forks, rear fuel tanks, and the wonderful design of the aluminum wheels.
These photos are from a visit to Museu de la Moto in Andorra – expect a Picture Intermission with more from the museum soon as I finally catch up on sharing the trip that Vy and I took around the Iberian Peninsula!
