Congratulations to Wally, who was the first to identify that this sidestand/centerstand combination comes from the new Curtiss!
Specifically, it comes from the Curtiss 1, an electric rebirth of a company that originally started as Confederate motorcycles.
A little bit more about the stands, directly from Curtiss: “Given the adjustable rake, trail, wheelbase, and ride height of Curtiss 1 you need to be able to adjust the reach of both the stands to ensure the proper lean angle and centre stand height. Hence the threaded rod that allows you to adjust the length of the stands, with a swivelling side stand foot so you won’t need to match the rotation of the base to maintain the correct angle. The coilover springs replace the ugly wire springs hooked on the back of typical stands, with a cam mechanism at the pivot to secure the stands in the retracted and deployed positions. This is the sort of attention to detail you can expect from a machine built free of compromise like Curtiss 1. After spending all that effort making the perfect adjustable side stand why not simplify production by making the centre stand two side stand assemblies linked together with a cross bar?”
The Curtiss 1 is available in two pre-order flavors, both of which are considered the “First Edition.” The two options are the Pure and the Avant-Garde, the latter of which is featured here and offers your choice of a black chassis with red battery or raw machined chassis with blue panels.
Pricing for the Avant-Garde starts at $81,000 – head on over to the Curtiss page for more photos and technical specs!
