The photos are hopeless and it’s lacking a lot of information, but this is by FAR the cheapest asking price I’ve ever seen for a Super III: $1,300.
If you’re not familiar, the quick story with the Super III is that Triumph got the help of engine tuning specialists Cosworth to build a faster variant of the Daytona 900. The result was a limited run (just 805 worldwide, 179 in the US) of bikes with hotter cams and higher compression, yielding 115 horsepower. Triumph also bestowed the motorcycle with some carbon fiber and Alcon 6 piston front brakes – it’s a special two-wheeler. All the seller has to say is that it runs well and has approximately 60,000 miles. Pictures like this aren’t encouraging, either:
But at this asking price, I think a phone call to get more information is well worth it. I don’t know if the seller thinks the high miles are a deal breaker or if he just doesn’t know what he has. Or maybe, I just think these are worth more than they really are. For what it’s worth, I’ve seen asking prices between $3k-$5k on Craigslist and bidding on eBay go past $4,200 for other examples in the past. Find this rare Triumph for sale in Westerville, Ohio for $1,300 here on Craigslist.
Or if you’re willing to spend a whole bunch more to get an example in nice shape, here’s a 11,500-mile example that looks great for $6,400 in Rosemount, Minnesota for $6,400 here on Craigslist.
