Here’s a pretty example of a BSA B40 with a twist – it was modded back in the 60s with a period correct round barrel 441 engine. Long live displacement!
For more information (and some tech specs) on the B40, check out this page on BSAWDB40.com. Or for an article that explains why the B40 was a “Memorable Motorcycle”, check out this writeup from Motorcycle Classics. Either way, neither of those pages directly relates to this bike, which has been turned into a little bit of a hybrid with the B44 Shooting Star thanks to the engine transplant.
This specific BSA B40 (VIN: B406456) was an older restoration that wasn’t completed until the curent owner took possession of the Beezer. The electrical system has been upgraded to 12V, and there’s some flaws in the general cosmetics, but this is a good looking example of a model I do not see up for sale very often.
