The last time I joined my buddies at Iconic Motorbikes for a Sunday ride, a few of you privately mentioned that you wanted a heads up for the next one. Well, here’s some notice on a special one, because this time around we’re taking a truly legendary machine out: a Honda NR750!
I can hardly believe it myself, but it’ll be great to see one of these on the road. We have a couple for sale but they are both “zero mile” bikes (here’s one with 3 kilometers, and here’s one with 5 kilometers) so they never get to see the road. Our two unused NRs at our hangar:
But we just got one in from Japan with about 6,100 miles, and it was in pretty good shape except for the fuel pump. A new fuel pump from Honda is supposedly $1,500, if you can even find one (we couldn’t).
Thankfully, our head mechanic figured out a workaround, and this bike is now ready to ride!
I’ll probably be on a Yamaha R1M loaner, rocking my quarantine hair:
We’ll leave Iconic (4161 Lincoln Blvd, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292, but we’ll be meeting around the back) around 7:40am, will probably get to the Malibu Country Mart at 8:30am, and then up to the Rock Store. It’s a slow group ride, but feel free to come by and say hi (just give me a heads up, please!)
