Post-Listing Update: This Knucklehead did not meet reserve with bidding up to $70,100 after 53 bids on eBay.
This lovely EL is being offered by the third owner, who says it hasn’t been ‘changed’ since 1965, when the original owner repainted it. In 1989, the bike was put away by the second owner and the third owner has just brought it back to life. Impressively, the only non-Harley part is the speedometer, which is from a 1937 Ford. The seller says it’s on the original tires but that can’t be right, can it?
While almost everything on the bike is from Harley, not everything is original. The frame is a ’37 and the rear fender hinge was swapped out with a different example. The main flaw is potentially the left fuel tank. It was sealed and the seller says it looks functional but he/she hasn’t put fuel in that tank to test it – assume it needs work. To bring this bike back to life, the seller replaced the battery, rebuilt the carb, changed all the fluids, and installed new points. The seller says it ‘rides amazing’, the transmission shifts through all gears and the original clutch is ‘perfect’. Plus, all the electrical systems work, too.
The bike is plated/registered in California and is ready to go, so find this Knucklehead for sale in Santa Monica, California with bidding up to $62,100 and the reserve not yet met or a BIN of $135,000
