Built in 1997 with a 1949 Vincent Rapide Series C motor (F10AB/1/2168), this beautiful Egli-framed motorcycle has a frame number from a 1952 Vincent Comet (RC/1/11576 B). It looks great but I’d love to throw a cowl on the rear end of that seat.
The “Egli” part of this equation comes from Fritz Egli, a former Swiss motorcycle racer who made a tremendous name for himself by building custom frames out of his speed shop. One of his first creations was a Vincent Black Shadow that won a hill climbing championship, and he’s still cranking out frames for bikes like the Yamaha V-Max. In the 60s, Egli had become so successful with his frame for the Vincent that he had no less than 6 other companies copying his design!
This bike has 1,036 miles and it features Paioli forks, twin leading shoe front brakes, Akront alloy wheels, Mikuni carbs, and a 6V electric system. The sale includes paperwork that includes engine work. It’s said to start and run well, and I love that tank. Find this Egli Vincent for sale here at Godin’s Sporting Cars & Motorcycles in Kent, England for $65,602.
