For me, hearing “Laverda” evokes an image of a big, loud, (and of course, very orange) street bike. But the Italian firm occasionally also dabbled into off-roaders – one of their more serious attempts was in the late 70s, with the LH4.
It’s been tough for me to get concrete information on this model, but less than 1,500 were produced. In 1976, Laverda struck a deal with Husqvarna for the latter to supply off-road engines and technical expertise, so this bike has the engine from a Husqvarna 250 WR. For a bit more information on Laverda’s off-road attempts, check out this link on Laverda Mania.
This example is somehow claimed to be 100% original and also restored (except for the Preston Petty fenders). Not sure how those two ides work together, but whateer. The engine has no miles on it and it comes with Italian paperwork. Find this Laverda LH4 for sale in Bassano del Grappa, Italy with an unmet opening bid of $3,900
