Post-Sale Update: After 13 bids on eBay, this 750 Sport sold for $19,000.

This Ducati 750 Sport has an interesting story thanks to ownership by Jody Nicolas, the former Editor of Cycle World and Technical Editor of Motorcyclist. He customized his instant classic by adding replacing the wheels with Morris Mags, rearranged the rear sets, added a rear hydraulic brake cylinder, and made some further modifications to increased comfort and allow for two up seating. Oh, and he painted it red, too!

Obviously, you’re not looking at a red bike in these pictures, and that’s because in 2010 a friend of Jody bought the bike and decided to make the bike look like a 750 Sport again. He replaced all the bodywork (except the tank) with aftermarket fiberglass units and repainted everything in the usual yellow. Two years later the current owner acquired the bike and overhauled a few systems to turn it into a ‘reliable runner.’

This example (VIN: DM750755968) has 28,963 miles on the odometer and the seller has kept several of the period changes – the mag wheels, the re-positioned rear sets, relocated electrical components under the tank, and non-original switch gear.
