In a couple of weeks I’m finally going to the Barber Vintage Festival for the first time! One of the highlights of the weekend is Barber’s sold annual fundraiser – they call it Motorcycles by Moonlight and it’s on Friday, October 6th. No pressure, but that’s my birthday…so I hope you’ll be there!
“Indulge yourself with a five-course dinner accompanied by wines and whiskey. Be fascinated by the live work of acclaimed artist Makoto Endo and take in the stories of Fujio Yoshimura— President of Yoshimura and son of founder Pops Yoshimura.”
Cool “small world” moment – Yoshimura is partially at the event due to a bike that was previously featured here on Bike-urious and acquired by John Barrett! Here’s some of the background, courtesy of RevZilla.
I’m headed out with a few of the crew from Iconic Motorbikes, and Barber is arranging a special package where we’ll have four tables (of eight people each) at the dinner plus a private tour of the museum on Sunday. We’ll be joined by our friends from BST and Ilmberger as well.
The proceeds earned from this memorable night are used to continue the museum’s collection, restoration, and preservation of the world’s history through motorsports – here’s some higlights from a previous year:
More information is available here – you can sign up for a seat directly through Barber (though they’ll randomly assign you) or you can contact me to join our existing tables!
I’ve mentioned previously that I’ll be going to Nate Kern’s DoubleRFest track day immediately after the Vintage Festival, hopefully you’ve signed up for that as well?
