Post-Listing Update: This Junak M10 120 did not attract any bids at the opening price of $9,900 on eBay.
These are the types of bikes I’m most excited to share with you – the ones I never knew existed. One of just 23 imported to the US in 1963, the Polish-made Junak M10 was a somewhat popular bike in continental Europe, though Americans aren’t very familiar with the marque. This specific example hasn’t even been broken in yet!
Junak produced the only 4-stroke bikes in Poland for several decades. Translating to “brave young man”, Junak produced 3 models over just 9 years of production (’56-65). During those 9 years, 91,400 bikes were made, the majority of which were M10s. The M10 features a 350cc 4 stroke single that produced 19 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. It has a 4 speed transmission and mounting points for a sidecar. A distinctive exhaust and loud valve train have led to it being called the “Polish Harley” in some circles. Interestingly enough, this is still the most advanced big Polish bike, as nothing similar has ever been produced!
This specific Junak M10 has just 610 kilometers (379 miles), and it’s not even broken in. Everything works as it should, and everything on the bike is original except for the petcock, inner tubes, and crash bar lamps. It seems the only cosmetic flaws are a small rip in the seat and some paint chips, and the seller notes that because this bike was relatively popular in Europe, spare parts are available online. It won’t be cheap, but you’ll definitely be the only one in your riding circle with one of these bikes.
