Post Sale Update: This hillclimbing EL sold for $18,000 after 26 bids on eBay.
1936 was the first year of Harley’s famous Knucklehead engine. The EL model debuted with a MSRP of $380 and the new engine was good for 40 horsepower. There are of course other specifications worth sharing, but they won’t relate to this specific example – which has been converted to a cool hillclimber.
For more on the EL, check out this article on Motorcycle Classics. But let’s focus on this hillclimber, which has dual Linkert carbs, two front heads, a custom-ground Andrews cam, Wico magneto, custom aluminum intakes, stainless 2-into-1 exhaust, and more. The bike has recently been rebuilt and it just oozes cool.
The seller says it might be the only one like it in the world, and I have no reason to disagree with him. Find this classic hillclimber for sale in Hagerstown, Maryland with bidding up to $13,000 and the reserve not yet met or a BIN of $25,000
