Post Sale Update: This Liberty Edition Sportster sold for $2,524 after 47 bids on eBay.
In 1986, Harley released a limited run of bikes across the Electra Glide, Low Rider, and 1100cc Sportster models. Just 1,750 were built as part of the “Liberty Edition.” Harley pledged $100 from the sale of each bike towards the restoration of the Statue of Liberty.
As you can probably guess, the Liberty Edition differed solely in cosmetics (which resulted in a $300 bump in price). Changes included spoked wheels and the Statue of Liberty on the tank and front fender.
This bike (VIN: 1HD1CAN44GY126532) has just shy of 40k miles and is claimed to look good for the age, though it will need a tune-up and a new set of tires. This is a no reserve auction, so someone’s getting a new-to-them bike! Find this Liberty Edition for sale in Pontiac, Illinois with bidding up to $2,024
