One of the requests I got from the Reader Survey was to update y’all with the results of featured bike listings. I thought that was a good idea – hopefully you’ve seen in the past that I sometimes update a post with the final sale price, if I’m able to find it. But that requires you to go back in the past. So let’s look back at some of the more interesting features, and see what the final sale prices were. Let’s take a look at May of 2016.
Obviously, this will only include listings from eBay (or other auction sites). I unfortunately have no way of finding out final sale prices of bikes offered on Craigslist/Cycle Trader/Kijiji/etc. With that said, here are some highlights from last month – thanks to reader Eric H, I’m also including locations of the sales as well:
Needs Some Work – 1939 Indian Bonneville Sport Scout Racer – sold for $21,000 after 53 bids on eBay in Kerrville, Texas.
JDM Spec – 1986 Suzuki GSX-R 750 Limited Edition – sold for $16,500 after 35 bids on eBay in Auburn, Washington.
Restored – 1955 BSA Bantam D3 – sold for the BIN of $5,500 in Montgomery, Indiana.
1964 Harley-Davidson Topper with Sidecar – sold for $7,000 after 3 bids on eBay in Streator, Illinois.
Dual Sport Custom – 1966 Honda CB160 – sold for $1,850 after 26 bids on eBay in Vernon-Rockville, Connecticut.
In Australia – 1946 Harley-Davidson FL Knucklehead – sold for $33,433 after 33 bids on eBay in Mount Hawthorn, WA, Australia.
Documented Restoration – 1965 Honda CB77 Superhawk – sold for $3,550 after 38 bids on eBay in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
Eddie Lawson Replica – 1983 Kawasaki KZ1000R2 ELR – sold for $15,600 after 30 bids on eBay in Brighton, Michigan.
Birmingham Bee Liner – 1967 BSA Custom – sold for the BIN of $12,000 in Batavia, Illinois.
397 Miles – 1969 Moto Guzzi Stornello Scrambler 125 – sold for $3,350 after 13 bids on eBay in West Sayville, New York.
Green Dream – 1953 BMW R51/3 BMW with Steib Sidecar – sold for $16,000 after 16 bids on eBay in Dayton, Ohio. Note that the bike was later relisted.
Gary Nixon La Carrera Entrant – 1986 Kawasaki Ninja 250 – sold for $2,551 after 11 bids on eBay in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.
1965 Ducati Sebring 350 Roadracer – sold for $6,256 after 4 bids on eBay in Bridgewater, Connecticut.
Unexpected Project – 1955 Ariel Square Four Chopper – sold for a best offer of $6,599 in Syracuse, New York.
No Reserve – 1967 Norton N15CS – sold for $5,044 after 22 bids in Boulder, Colorado.

Endurance Racer – 1982 Segale Honda CB1100 – did not meet reserve with 8 bids up to $9,221 in Alcheda, Italy.
1954 Vincent Black Shadow – did not meet reserve with 13 bids up to $82,100 in Saint Louis, Missouri.
Dick Mann Replica – 1971 OSSA 250 DMR – did not meet reserve despite 30 bids up to $5,000.
1972 Alsport Steen Hodaka – did not meet reserve with 12 bids up to $1,706 in Union, Missouri.
#007 – 2000 Bimota SB8R – did not meet reserve with 19 bids up to $7,691 in El Segundo, California.
Asama Racer – 1960 Yamaha YDS1R – did not meet reserve with 27 bids up to $9,679.99 in El Segundo, California.
Never Raced – 1974 Yamaha TZ700 – did not meet reserve despite 26 bids up to $64,100 in Miami, Florida.
New In Crate – 1977 Bultaco Astro 360 – did not meet reserve with 4 bids up to $20,000 in Parkdale, VIC, Australia.
What surprised you? I thought the CB77 would go for more, and now I’m wishing I snapped up that little CB160 custom that went for just $1,850!
