Last month we featured some great bikes – but did they sell? And if so, for how much?
This list will only include listings from eBay (or other auction sites). I unfortunately have no way of finding out final sale prices of bikes offered on Craigslist/Cycle Trader/Kijiji/etc. With that said, here are some highlights from last month:
1972 Yamaha RD/R5 Cafe Racer – sold for $3,050 after 27 bids on eBay in Seattle, Washington.
1987 Honda VFR700 Interceptor – sold for $3,049 after 23 bids on eBay in Antioch, Illinois.
1965 Bultaco Metisse Pursang 250 – sold for $6,050 after 22 bids on eBay in Spokane, Washington.
Big Twin Custom – 1931 Harley-Davidson VL – sold for $22,000 after 25 bids on eBay in Hartland, Wisconsin.
A Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing – 1966 Lambretta SX200 – sold for $13,600 after 46 bids on eBay in Orange, California.
1965 Montesa Impala Sport 250 – after being relisted, this sold for a BIN of $10,500 in Cave Creek, Arizona.
Ending Soon – 2007 BMW R1200S – sold for $5,750 after 25 bids on eBay in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Set Up For Street – 1969 Rickman Metisse MkIV – sold for $5,200 after 27 bids on eBay in Snow Hill, Maryland.
Ending Soon – 1999 Bimota SB8R – sold for $9,103 after 21 bids on eBay in Woodland Hills, California.
One Owner, 80K Miles – 1980 Suzuki GS550E – sold for $910 after 23 bids on eBay in Menasha, Wisconsin.
No Reserve – 1992 Suzuki RGV250 – sold for $9,019 after 42 bids on eBay in Springville, Utah.
Centennial Edition – 2002 Triumph Daytona 955i – sold for $2,700 after 8 bids on eBay in Bedford, Virginia.
2002 Ducati 998R – sold for $23,100 after 13 bids on eBay in East Hampton, New York.
Of the bikes that did not sell, here are some examples that I thought were noteworthy:
Period Hot Rod – 1969 Norton Commando 750 S – did not meet reserve despite 68 bids up to $11,150 in Stockton, New Jersey.
2000 Kawasaki W650 Cafe Racer – did not get any action at the BIN of $8,500 in Babylon, New York.
1972 Benelli 250 Super Sport – did not meet reserve despite 31 bids up to $4,150 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
Impressive Replica – “1975” Bimota HB1 – did not meet reserve despite 23 bids up to $22,100 in Staatsburg, New York.
2000 AXR 1200 Cafe Sportster – did not get any interest at the asking price of $12,950 in Dunedin, Florida.
2 of 17 – 1941 Harley-Davidson TA Knucklehead Trike Projects – bidding did not meet reserve at $51,350 in Maggie Valley, North Carolina.
What surprised you? My biggest shock came from the $13,600 sale price of the Lambretta scooter.
