The Ducati 749R was a limited edition of the 749 that initially came out to varying opinions with regards to styling. When it came to performance, however, everyone agreed that this middleweight was an absolute joy. With 121 horsepower and 62 pound-feet of torque, the R’s got several upgrades and the production number stamped on the triple tree.

Upgrades for the R included lower weight, a larger fuel tank, slipper clutch, and Ohlins suspension. You also got more power thanks to titanium valves and connecting rods, racing cams, and a shorter stroke with increased bore and larger valves. Visordown called it “a nearly perfect bike” that “allows you to push harder than ever”.

This specific Ducati 749R (VIN: ZDM1UB3T56B009398) is #134 of…no one seems to know. Estimates vary, and Ducati hasn’t given an official number. The best guesses I’ve seen suggest 1,200 were produced from 2004-2006, 150 of which made it to the US. This 749R has spent most of its life in indoor storage and has less than 2,000 miles on the odometer – this bike is ready for its next owner.
