Post-Listing Update: This Honda Monkey Z50 did not get any bids.
This Honda Monkey Z50 (affectionately called the Monkey-Davidson) has been converted to look like an Electra-Glide with the Batwing fairing, luggage, and trunk.
The seller suggests that the “Monkey Davidson” kit is a real thing, though I haven’t been able to find much information on it. It seems that it might have been a Japan-only kit that owners could self-install to turn their Z50s into baby Harleys. The seller claims this is one of the early kits.
This specific Honda Monkey Z50 (VIN: Z50J-13668**) has 3,846 miles and will unfortunately need a total restoration. While the kit is in good enough shape, the bike itself isn’t. There are no keys, and while the engine turns over okay, all the chrome is rusted and the inside of the fuel tank is ‘very bad’. All the restoration might be worth it when you show up on this thing at a Harley rally. Maybe you’ll have to tow it there with an actual Harley?
