Because I live in LA, the nickname of Mamba annoyingly makes me think of Kobe Bryant (go Celtics!) Similarly low on my personal list is the Mamba edition of the MV Agusta F4. I think it looks a bit tacky, but a.) it’s rare and I wanted to show it to you and b.) looks are subjective, so i hope you enjoy it!
MV has released several limited editions of the F3 and F4 from the factory, but the Mamba kit was a separate cosmetic package that you could order to dress up your F4. The kits were released in 2005 and there were three options – Standard, Basic, and Full. The Basic and Full versions were limited to a total of 300 kits, and they gave you a whole lot of carbon fiber and other goodies for a price of $10,000 on top of the the $22,000 MSRP. The Standard kit gives you the same paint scheme/general looks but with plastic, not carbon fiber – and that’s what this bike is packing.
This example (VIN: ZCGF511BA6V003528) has just 2 miles on the odometer – it was immediately put in storage in an apartment, but if one was going to preserve a Mamba edition for the future, why wouldn’t you get one of the limited edition full carbon fiber kits?
