Post Sale Update: This KX sold for the BIN of $7,500 on eBay in Homosassa, Florida.

When Kawasaki introduced the KX500 motocrosser in 1983, Dirt Bike magazine called it “unrideable” and “violent.” Now they just call it “the one bike to ride before you die.” The bike didn’t change all that much over the years (in fact, from 1994 till it was killed off in 2004, it didn’t change at all), but this one got a little extra flair thanks to a sticker kit designed to make it look like Jeff Emig’s racer from the 1995 Motocross des Nations.

According to the seller, the suspension and frame were “overhauled 3 years ago” and the bike hasn’t really been ridden since. Other new parts included the chain, sprocket, bars, grips, throttle tube assembly, tires, and Pro Circuit Works exhaust. It looks to be in good cosmetic shape with the exception of some scratches in the tank and a tab in the left radiator that has “vibrated itself off.”
