My Old Beater – 1983 Honda XR350R With No Reserve

In Japan, Less than 5k, Off-Road by AbhiLeave a Comment

Back when I hosted the Beater Olympics, I bought three $500 bikes and recruited some friends to join to make sure we had a few teams and the event was a total bust. One of those bikes was a ’83 Honda XR350R which performed admirably, but I’ve been neglecting it and it needs a new home. Do you want to goof around with it?

The Beater Olympics was all about getting people together with $500 bikes to tackle a series of events including a slow race, drag race with a Le Mans start, relay race, and motorcycle limbo:

After the event, I used it for a couple of other fun events like Hell on Wheels’ Halloween Hillclimb, where I raced it wearing a Prince Aladdin costume:

After that, I took it out for one weekend ride with Bike-urious reader Beale D because my KTM had a blown motor, and then I parked it:

This example is VIN: JH2NE0109DM000235. True mileage is unknown, and I have the original California title. I had the Iconic shop go through the carbs (yes, there’s two carbs even though it’s a single) to show that it’s a runner but at the absolute minimum it needs an oil change and new tires, and there’s definitely many more little things that could/should be addressed depending on what you want to do with it. But I’m not going to get around to it, so I’m offering it up with no reserve.

It sounds amazing with the Answer Racing exhaust.
