Founded in 1937, Meguro was one of Japan’s first motorcycle manufacturers. They eventually became part of Kawasaki, but not before they helped legitimize the Japanese motorcycle industry.
One of the more notable moments in Meguro’s history came in the late 20s after the Wall Street crash. The company invested in none other than Harley and gained all kinds of technical knowledge for their trouble – this helped the Japanese evolve into the mass production of bikes.
This 250 SG was part of Meguro’s push to develop consumer friendly bikes for export. Apparently this exact example was originally purchased by a sheep farmer on Catalina Island, California and despite what the patina might make you think, it’s a ‘sweet runner’ with working lights and horn. With that said, the fuel tank is going to need some work – it needs to be cleaned and the sellersays there’s some pinholes on the bottom. Find this Meguro for sale near Titusville, Florida for $2,400 here on Craigslist.
