The listing for this bike is seriously inadequate, but this bike is so rare that I’m letting it slide.
The Phantom 2C is a 250cc model that put out 25 horsepower, enough for a top speed of 90 miles per hour. The engine was a two stroke parallel twin that typically got blown away by the Yamaha RD series, but it was still equipped with components like Borrani rims, Marzocchi forks, Veglia instrumentation, and twin Dell’orto carbs. Unlike almost all competition of the day, you still had to premix oil. From what I can tell, the Phantom 2C was a twin of the Moto Guzzi 250TS.
The seller (Burgundee Bikes) doesn’t give any information on this bike except to say it has 5,789 miles. A quick visual inspection shows a missing brake light and turn signal, so this is going to need some work. But if you’re looking for a small, rare Italian project, find this Phantom for sale in Cocoa, Florida for $3,495 here on Craigslist.
