Back in the 60’s some of the major US department stores sold European small-displacement motorcycles in the American market. Montgomery Wards rebadged Benellis and sold them under the Wards-Riverside name. You could buy them in the store, or from their long-gone catalogs. Here’s one that was ordered straight from the catalog, and while it has been started, it’s never been ridden and it’s still got the original plastic wrap on the seat.
This example stands out due to the lack of use – the seller notes that it has all the “original parts, paints, etc and it’s looking for a new home.” He or she says it was ordered by their Uncle but the paperwork has gone missing and they don’t know what year it is (somewhere between ’66-’69).
