Back in January, I featured a ’87 304 that had never been started. In that post, I mentioned that “the seller also has another 304 that’s still in the crate. That one’s available for $6,911.” 9 months later, the new in crate bike is still available.
The specs are obviously the same from the last post: despite the 304 name, this bike has a 231cc inline four that produces 27 horsepower at 10,500 rpm. Well, that’s the theory. I suspect this bike will never do so again. To be frank, I’m not entirely sure what the value of it is. All I can see is that it stays in a crate (or at most, gets assembled) and gets put into a collection. The instant you put miles on this it just becomes a small Italian bike that isn’t old enough to be a classic yet. Right? Thanks to the paperwork, the seller says he would be able to register this as a 2016 model year if you want to confuse people.
