Post-Listing Update: After getting no action at $12,850, this was weirdly relisted at US $13,400…where it again got no interest.
2011 marked the end of two-stroke world championships – the next year, Moto3 moved to four-strokes, and Honda’s first factory effort was the NSF250R. Rules capped bore size at 81mm, revs at 14,000 rpm, and valves at four. Claimed power? 48 ponies, which were plenty for the feather light dry weight of 180 pounds. Honda offered this racer in the US in 2012 with a MSRP of $28,599, but if you want a new one now, you’ll need to find an example like this ‘new in crate’ model in Japan. Don’t mind the age – they’re still competitive! Honda won the constructor’s title with this bike just last year.
For more on this little racer, check out Honda’s stats page. This example comes with an English manual and a triangle side stand, not the sweet rear stand that’s picture. The seller offers spare parts (including spare engines) as well.
