Act fast – this Speed Four is for sale in New Jersey for just $1,500!
Just about everyone is familiar with Triumph’s hugely popular Speed Triple, but an inline four cylinder version was also available between 2002 and 2006. The Speed Four was basically a TT600 sport bike without the bodywork – the Speed retained the clipons and got headlights and a little fairing reminiscent of the STriple. The 599cc engine yielded 97 horsepower, good for a top speed of 155 mph and a 3.5 second 0-60 time thanks to the 375 pound dry weight. At the time, it was hailed as a excellent handler – in fact even 2 years after it was cancelled the Speed Four was deemed the best handling motorcycle in the RiDER Power survey.
This example has 5,478 miles and is said to be in excellent shape. It spent 4 years in hibernation before the current seller acquired it last year and put 400-500 miles on it. There are a few minor modifications including flush turn signals, Jardine exhaust, and a rear seat cowl. The seller did a tune up and installed new tires and a battery last year.
