The HP2 Enduro was the perfect bike for riders who thought the R1200GS was capable but too heavy. Thanks to a trellis frame and conventional telescopic forks, the HP2 saved 53 pounds of weight from the standard GS. They’ve become cult classics and that means that asking prices can be hefty – here’s one that’s bidden ridden and enjoyed plenty with the lowest asking price I’ve seen in a bit ($12,500).
Sold only between 2005 and 2008, the Enduro was part of BMW’s HP series (all of which were boxers), which included the street-based twin to this bike, the Megamoto. BMW got dry weight down to an impressive 386 pounds, bumped up power to 105 hp, and in the process built the ultimate GS. Conventional forks up front and an air shock in the back helped owners treat the HP2 Enduro more like a dirt bike and less like a large street-biased dual-sport.
The seller of this example got it last year (also on ADVRider) but he’s only ridden it once so he thinks it needs a new home. It has ~28,500 miles (the dash is in kilometers as it was originally sold in Canada) and there’s a bunch of upgrades – WP48 fork conversion, Stadium shock, Akrapvoic muffler, Scotts stabilizer, heated grips, some crash protection, and a few spare parts. It’s obviously been ridden as it was intended, which means that there’s some scratches and scrapes. But that just means you can ride it without worrying about putting another scratch on it!
