Post-Listing Update: This Bonanza did not sell, despite being relisted.
I don’t think I’ve seen an original YCS-1 in this kind of shape – but I’ve also never seen such a high asking price for one! The Yamaha YCS-1 180 Bonanza was a lovely small-displacement 2-stroker that was also available in a scrambler variant.
The 180cc twin utilized cast iron cylinders and carbs between 18-22mm. Sharing plenty of parts with the CS2, these bikes were often the first motorcycles for many a current rider. As shown by an “electric” decal on the side cover, 1967 was the first year for electric start.
This specific Yamaha YCS-1 180 Bonanza is in fantastic condition and has just 7,037 miles. Everything is original, and the seller claims there’s no rust. The bike is currently equipped with low handlebars, but the seller will include the original bars as well.
