Imported to the US by a serviceman in the early 2000s, this BMW was soon paired with a Stolz sidecar that was imported from Turkey immediately after.
Stolz was a small sidecar manufacturer founded in 1921 in the suburbs of Berlin – they stopped offering sidecars to the public in the late 30s.
The seller of this example took it in on a trade last year and he’s had his fun with it. He says that the paint was redone around the same time the drivetrain was rebuilt, but there’s no documentation of any work. In addition, he notes that the “charging system doesn’t appear to be charging the battery. I have LED lights all the light sockets and use a trickle charger, so it’s not really been an issue for me.”
