Post Sale Update: This SL175 sold for $6,753 after 43 bids on eBay in Mentor, Ohio.
Built between 1970 and 1972, the SL was a street scrambler available in displacements from 70 to 350cc – though the styling was popular and has inspired a few larger customs like this “SL450” and this “SL750“
The 175 utilized a 174cc parallel twin pushing 19 horsepower through a five-speed transmission. Dry weight was just under 250 pounds, and the color options for 1971 included Candy Sapphire Blue, Poppy Yellow Metallic, and the Light Ruby Red seen here.
This example (VIN: SL1752004235) has just 1,534 miles and the seller says that everything works. He/she also calls it “a very nice low mileage survivor” that is still equipped with the original tires.
