“Riding one of Kawasaki’s big fours means never having to be sorry there’s not more power.” So begins a February 1977 review in Cycle magazine about the KZ1000. Here’s a one-owner example with a few mods that looks like it’s been well-kept.

Basic specs were For more on the KZ1000, check out the above-mentioned Cycle Magazine review hosted on Ye Olde Cycle Shoppe.

This example (VIN: KZT00A012587) has 15,474 miles and it’s still rocking the original paint, chrome, seat, and most other parts. The only modifications are 1979 VM28 carbs, electronic ignition, black-painted engine, Kawasaki mag wheels, and a 4-1 exhaust. The original VM26 carbs, exhaust, wheels, and tool kit are included though the exhaust “has a few small rust holes.” It spent some time in storage but had the carbs and fuel system cleaned and brake fluids flushed. The seller (who’s selling it on behalf of the original owner) says that everything works, there are no leaks, and it rides like it should, but the rear tire should be replaced.
