Post Sale Update: This MB5 sold for $1,600 after 42 bids on eBay.

The MB5 was only imported to the United States for one year, and for a while it did not leave a lasting impression. However, the little Honda has had a resurgence in popularity in the last few years – maybe riders that grew up with them are feeling nostalgic?

The MB5 was an oddball – styled like a sport bike, it had a tiny 49cc two-stroke engine that produced nearly 7 horsepower. MSRP was $398, and it included features that were reminiscent of much bigger bikes of the time, like a 5-speed transmission, front disc brake, Honda’s Comstar wheels, and even a tachometer with a 10,500 rpm redline. This example (VIN: JH2AC0109CK013209) has 3,724 miles and it’s said to run like new though the tachometer does not work all the time. It’s got light cosmetic wear that corresponds with the age, but in general it looks pretty good. It’s equipped with the very rare Honda luggage rack as well as an aftermarket windshield I cannot identify. Find this MB5 for sale in Fort Smith, Arkansas with bidding up to $1,600
