Of all the Japanese turbo wonder bikes of the 80s, Suzuki’s effort was the rarest. Just 1,153 examples of the XN85 Turbo were built, and it had the distinction of being the first production motorcycle with a 16″ front wheel. When paired with the Full Floater rear suspension, that resulted in a machine that Motorcyclist magazine described as such: “Nothing works better in the corners than the Suzuki XN85.“
The low-pressure turbo helped the 673cc motor produced 85 horsepower – which is how the bike got its name. If you want more information, check out this retrospective on Cycle World.
This example (VIN: JS1GP71TXD2100431) has 9,675 miles and it was imported from Canada two years ago. With that said, it does not have a US title and is only offered on a Bill of Sale. It also comes with a variant of the classic “ran when parked” story, so assume you’ll be doing carbs/fluids/tires/etc. But it looks pretty good cosmetically and the mileage isn’t bad. Plus, these things don’t come up for sale often!
