Post Sale Update: After 41 bids on eBay, this SDR sold for $4,494.
Though it was originally sold only in the Japanese Domestic Market, Yamaha’s SDR200 can now occasionally be found in Europe and the US thanks to the grey-market. Reminiscent of a tiny Ducati monster, the SDR features a distinctive trellis frame. This bike is offered at no reserve, but the paperwork status will make it difficult for some of you to get any further in the process than dream, depending on what state you’re in.
The SDR featured a two-stroke single cylinder engine with Yamaha’s YPVS technology. The 195cc engine was good for 34 horsepower, and the motorcycle had a 6-speed transmission. All of that came in a package that weighed just 253 pounds, enabling a claimed top speed of 99 miles per hour.
This example was just imported and has not yet been registered in the US. It’s said to be clean and in “very good running condition.” Everything seems to be in good shape and the odometer shows 13,250 miles, though there’s no way to verify that. Flaws include a repainted tank, worn tires, and fork seals that will need to be replaced. Find this SDR for sale in Compton, California with an opening bid of $1
