Over at Iconic we’re doing something a little risky – we’re selling a Desmosedici with no reserve! Who knows what it will sell for, but it’s guaranteed to find a new home…
For the purposes of this listing I’m going to assume you’re familiar with the Desmosedici and why it’s special. We sold this bike back in 2022 to a client in New York who kept it on display. He was looking to change out some of his collection last year so we acquired this Desmo and a MV Agusta F4 750 Serie Oro with zero miles on it for our inventory – we sold the latter but unfortunately the former ended up having an engine issue which is sadly not uncommon with the model.
With that in mind, we were able to track down new OEM heads and cases. We had Ducati Master Tech Marc Maidens replace those and address other common issues with the engine (valve springs, rod bearings, etc).
So, now we’ve got an interesting situation where we have a Desmosedici that’s got a healthy motor (we put ~100 break-in miles on it) but the engine cases are blank. We still have the original cases and can include them in the sale for the next owner if they want it for collectibility’s sake. It comes with a bunch of extras (including a 17″ rear wheel conversion so you can actually get modern rubber for it) and I’m hoping this one goes to someone who will put miles on it!
