Post Sale Update: This MV sold for $10,807 after bids on Iconic Motorbike Auctions in Commerce City, Colorado.
It’s always cool when we can guarantee that a bike on the auction site is going to find a new home because it’s being offered with no reserve – but it’s not everyday that one of those no reserve bikes is a basically-new Italian classic. When it was released in 2008, this was the fastest production motorcycle in the world, and the “312” in the name told you its top speed in kilometers. If you’re like me and prefer miles, the magic number is 193.9.
That terminal velocity was capable thanks to the 183 horsepower, 85 lb-ft inline four motor which got a few upgrades from previous F4 Rs, such as 30mm titanium intake valves, upgraded cams, and 48mm throttle bodies. Otherwise, the bike was basically the same as the F4 1000 R, offered in three liveries – black with grey touches, white with black touches, or Corsa red with silver touches.
This example (VIN: ZCGAKFGM28V100629) has spent all of its life in a private collection on display, and now it needs a new home. Not much to say about it – the seller simply says that it has “5 miles and no stories.” Let’s see what the market thinks it’s worth.
