Never sold in the US, the GB400 was imported by the seller from Japan with the intention of “doing a cafe build”. Thankfully, his priorities have changed and this bike is still stock.
The US received the GB500, which is arguably more popular now then when it was available in dealerships. The 400 is a very rare find in the US – though that doesn’t mean it’s a better riding experience. One advantage to the little brother was a decrease in vibration from the single cylinder motor. If you’re on the smaller side and your riding preferences don’t involve outright speed, this is an interesting option. For more on the little GB, check out this article on Yew Emm Gee.
Unfortunately, this example is not currently registered in the US, though the seller claims he has “all the necessary paperwork to get it registered” in his home state of South Carolina. It has less than 7,500 miles, new tires, a recent oil change, and everything is said to work (though the rear brake pedal is starting to stick).
Find this GB400 for sale here on Craigslist in Sumter, South Carolina for $2,300.
