Non-Competitive – 1963 Parilla 250 High Cam Racer

In Italy, Race by AbhiLeave a Comment

Moto Parilla was best known in the US for their “high cam” motor. The 250cc version made it into a variety of motorcycles, including the base of what became this lovely racer build. It was built to compete at the AMA Vintage Days in 2015 but it was sidelined by an oil leak. The leak has since been fixed but as the seller points out – this is probably best as a display pieces because it’ll need some upgrades to the cam and carb before it would be competitive in vintage racing.

The seller acquired this bike (VIN: 250285) from his friends estate, and it apparently has less than 100 actual miles – I would normally assume he means 100 miles since the build as opposed to 100 miles since new. The bike currently features a 12 volt total loss electrical system, and the kick starter and charging system have been removed. Other goodies include a rare factory tach, racing megaphone and velocity stack on the carb. It has a fiberglass racing seat paired with clipons and rear sets. Most of the original parts are included, plus the seller has moved away slightly from the race setup by reinstalling the center stand and removing the crank case vent bottle. In the seller’s words, the bike is essentially race ready except for the engine modifications you’ll need to do if you want to keep up. Or just feel free to look good at the back of the pack!
